The Best Recipes For Grilled Tacos
Posted by Josh Gilmore on
Perhaps one of my favorite things about grilling is that no matter what you put on a grill, it is almost always guaranteed to improve its flavor.
If you name something that is normally prepared in the oven, and odds are, it’s probably twice as good when prepared on the grill.
Grills are like King Midas, except instead of gold, everything they touch turns to delicious.
As Grillaholics, we take pride in our ability to grill just about anything, even food that isn’t normally intended to be grilled.
From breakfast foods, to corn on the cob, to cookies, we’ve already shown you amazing ways to prepare new and interesting things on your grill.
Today, we have another personal favorite to share: tacos.
In their most basic for, tacos consist of a tortilla (flour or corn) filled with meats, vegetables, and cheeses.
By that description alone, it makes sense that adding a grill to the equation could only make them better.
Meats traditionally prepared in a skillet or crockpot are now with a delicious naturally smoky flavor that elevates tacos to the next level.
If you’re tired of average, boring tacos (ground beef with taco seasoning, shredded cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, taco sauce, etc.) then we have the solution for you.
In honor of Cinco de Mayo (May 5th), we’re sharing some of our favorite, Grillaholic-approved recipes that you can add to your grilling repertoire.
Pulled Pork Tacos
These tacos are going to require several hours of tender love and care, but they are so worth it. As all Grillaholics know, getting a tender, juicy, flavorful pulled pork is an art form, and these tacos allow you to experience that art at its finest. If you have a personal rub that you like to use on your pork butt, you can absolutely get creative with it, but the rub in this recipe pairs extremely well with the tacos. Don’t forget to pick up a set of meat claws to make shredding that pulled pork easy!

The grilled whitefish and mango salsa pair extremely well together, and are both imbued with a delicious smoky flavor. Better Be Grilled has both a written recipe, and a mouthwatering video recipe, so making these bad boys is extremely easy. If you’re worried about your fish sticking to your grill grates, make sure you know how to prevent food from sticking to your grill.

If it’s from the BBQ Pit Boys then you know it’s gonna be good. The video recipe that we are sharing with you is actually for a torta steak sandwich, but if you take all of the same ingredients and throw them onto a tortilla instead of between two buns, you’ll end up with an insanely delicious taco. The important part of the video recipe is the marinated flank steak.

Grilled Chicken Tacos
One of the biggest issues with chicken tacos is that the chicken itself ends up a bit bland. With these tacos, you won’t have to worry about that. The chicken in marinated in salsa that gives a great flavor, and the pineapple salsa adds a great kick to the finished product.

Taco Burger
Okay, we we’re cheating a bit with this last one. While technically not a “taco,” it takes the best parts and flavors of a taco, and throws them onto a burger, and the result is something that you’ve gotta try. Oh, and did we mention this burger is STUFFED with cheese? Perfect time to break out the stuffed burger press.
