MAMA MIA- Low Carb Stuffed Pizza Burger
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds of ground beef (80/20)
- Basil, Oregano, Salt and Pepper to taste
- Low Carb Marinara Sauce
- 2 Sticks of String Cheese
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the ground beef with basil and oregano to taste. Divide the meat into 4 even balls. Using your burger press, take each ball and divide it in half. Put half inside the press and firmly press to flatten. Take the top piece with the handle off exposing the dimple maker and firmly press, turn and pull up- creating a crater to fill. Fill your burger with ½ piece of string cheese, a TBSP of marinara, pepperoni’s, onions and peppers.
Take the other half of the meat and gently flatten with your finger tips and lay over the top of the stuffed burger. To seal, make sure to push firmly, twist and pull up (in one motion). Push the disk on the bottom of the press upward with your hand to release the burger from the mold.
Brown the burgers on one side in an oven safe skillet, flip and top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. For extra flavor, add marinara to the bottom of the skillet.
Bake for 15 mins at 350 F until cheese is golden and bubbly.
